When purpose and passion collide there is a powerful story needing to be told! Run Marc, Run!

I want you to meet my good friend Marc Rosenblum.

This Monday, April 15th, he is running his 7th Boston Marathon to help the fight against cancer so we can live in a world that is cancer free!

Yesterday, I had a certain tug on my heart to check on Marc’s progress towards his big goal of raising $20k for cancer research. So I went to his Facebook page and found his link to the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge.

Looking at the progress status, I could see he is SOOO close to reaching his goal, he just needs $2785 to get there!

$20k is the biggest goal Marc has set in the last 7 years!

I remember the conversation where he mentioned that setting a goal of $20k was the biggest goal he set in the last 7 years.  For the last 6 month, he has tirelessly advocated for his cause sharing his passion, purpose, and story with anyone who will listen.

Earlier this week, Marc mentioned he still needed a raise a fair amount in order to reach the $20k goal. I could tell that he was not giving up and was determined more than ever but also starting to get anxious about the run as well. I didn’t blame him…. raising $20k and running 26.2 miles is no small feat! A lot of time and training has gone into this both mentally and physically.

Less than 4 days away with $2785 left to go!

Here we are less than 4 days away from the Boston Marathon with $2785 left to go!

I knew in my heart was telling me that his story needed to be told in a BIG way! I spent the next few hours, scrolling through his Facebook feed reading his posts.

His posts were fearlessly showing his passion for the cause to cure cancer and his reasons why he was running as his life has been altered as someone he loved lost their fight with cancer.  His love and purpose were coming through loud and clear. So after spending some time gathering his photos, and his words… his story was clearly laid out in front of me.

I'm so proud of my friend Marc Rosenblum for running the Boston Marathon as part of the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge...

What happened next surprised both of us!

I was so excited to share this with Marc, to show my continued support and give him an extra boost of energy before heading into the weekend preparing for the run.

What happened next surprised both of us! We both shared the Facebook video with our friends and inside a few private Facebook groups.  The next few hours surprised us!

I posted the video around 5 PM Central, so not necessarily the most optimal time to get it in front of people, but we continued to watch the stats grow.

After 2.5 hours we had reached 285… 3 hours we had reached 563… 3.5 hours we had reached 819 who had been shown the video! After the post was live on Facebook for 4 hours, we had reached over 1k, with 23 shares, 23 likes, and 24 loves.

19 hours after we shared the post, we have raised an additional $185 and have reached an audience of over 2.1k, with 28 shares, 44 likes, and 36 loves.

Go Marc, Go!!

This is all organic traffic! We still have a long way to go in the next 4 days, but I believe we can make it! If you would like to contribute to the cause please donate if you can and help spread the word!

*Update 4/12:
27 hours after posting the video.  It has reached an audience of over 2.4k, with 28 shares, 52 likes, and 38 loves.

*Update 4/13:
48 hours after posting the video. It has reached an audience of over 2.7k, with 30 shares, 64 likes, and 39 loves.

*Update 4/14:
3 days after posting the video. It has reached an audience of over 3k, with 32 shares, 64 likes, and 42 loves.

*Update 4/15:
4 days after posting the video. It has reached an audience of over 3.4k, with 33 shares, 67 likes, and 43 loves.

Marc surpassed his initial goal of $20k by hitting $22k+. We know 9 donations so far have come directly from the video that others shared.  I’m counting this a success as my main goal was to bring awareness to the cause and boost a friends spirits as he prepared for the Boston Marathon.

Simply follow your heart!

This simply shows that when fearless purpose and passion collide there is a story that is needing to be told!

When you follow your heart, it easy for others to help share your story but sometimes you need a little outside help to tell it in a slightly different way!

If you feel like you’re shouting from the rooftops but instead of people listening… your voice is just disappearing into the abyss. Or if you’re tired of constantly trying to compete and talk over the constant noise of everyone else.  I can help!

I would love to learn more and help you overcome the struggles and frustrations of marketing yourself online. Send me a message and we can schedule a time to connect and talk it through.  I would love to get to know you more and help you tell your story.
